Psych Meds & the Therapist’s Role is a six-part training series for therapists who regularly refer clients for psychiatric medication and want that process to feel clearer, more collaborative, and less opaque.
Led by Janine Michaelson, PMHNP-BC of OutPsych, the series focuses on how psychiatric care actually works in outpatient settings—how referrals happen, how evaluations are structured, how medication decisions evolve over time, and how therapists’ observations meaningfully shape treatment.
The series begins with referral and collaboration fundamentals, then moves into commonly prescribed medication categories therapists encounter in practice. Each session is designed to be practical, therapist-centered, and directly applicable to clinical work.
